Solid, accurate... and not just for fish! February 6, 2007 Michael J Edelman (Huntington Woods, MI USA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Here's a secret for the uninformed: This is a very popular scale with people who never weigh a single fish. This is perhaps the best inexpensive package scale you can get, and if you're a regular eBay seller, it's one of the best tools you cna buy for making accurate weighings for estimating shipping charges. With this scale and a plastic bag, you can weigh any package, no matter how irregularly shaped, and get a weight accurate within an ounce or two. But remember- it's a secret!
Exellent tool for international traveller July 4, 2008 David Langthaler (Earth) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this scale to weight my suitcases before I travel. I always travel with maximum weight allowed, this lets me pack my suitcases to the maximum weight allowed in peace and quite at home. Prior to this I would use a personal scale, which was not very accurate, and often I would have to repack my suitcase at the airport, which was rather inconvenient. This is little marvel.
Great for fish or measuring thrust and wt of RC aircraft February 21, 2008 Dr. B (Logan, UT USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Inexpensive scale for measuring wt of fish and RC airplanes. Hook it to the tail of an aircraft and measure the thrust of different prop, motor, and battery combinations. If the thrust to weight ratio is too low you can determine that the plane will not fly and save your self a crash. Measures to the nearest oz.
Accurate, Repeatable, Usable March 10, 2009 Ryan Ruta (Rochester, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a fisherman, but I bought this scale to use mostly for weighing packages. I'm an avid eBayer and this scale works great. It is very accurate and repeatable. It serves my purposes perfectly and I've been using it for about 5 months now. For the price, you just can't beat it. Similar range shipping scales cost at least 3 or 4 times as much.
Top notch scale for travelers and backpackers September 14, 2009 R. Ross (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been backpacking and world traveling for many-many years and have a whole set of "fish scales" for weighing my items that weigh from a few ounces to 20 pounds. When I needed a scale with a 50-pound range for complete backpacks and airline luggage I opted for the Berkley 50 lb scale. It works great, with 1 oz resolution, and is pretty accurate. When I first bought my unit, my wife took it to work and used her professional calibration weights to check its accuracy. Mine was dead-on at 5 pounds, high by 1 oz at 15 pounds, and high by 2 oz at 40 pounds. Yours will likely be different, but I consider that very good for a $20 scale and more than adequate for my needs. Also, the handle is big and comfortable enough to easily lift 50 pounds and the hook works fine for lifting things. Used it also (very carefully) to weigh my nephew's new born. Probably, also works for fish.
